KENYA MISSION TRIP — APPLICATION
Nairobi, Kenya | June 1–11, 2027
Open to high school students and adults • Team size: 20 students, 10 adults
HOW MUCH IS IT?
Each participant will be responsible for raising $2,500 to cover the cost of the trip. This is to cover airfare and in-country expenses. Participants will also need to bring money for travel meals and any souvenirs they may want to purchase. You'll be raising this amount through financial and prayer support — see "What Am I Committing To" below for details. A $250 deposit is due by November 6, 2026 after your acceptance onto the team.
WHO CAN GO?
High school students, along with adult chaperones and team leaders. Team size: 20 students, 10 adults. All high school students are welcome to apply; priority will be given to older students, given the spiritual maturity and physical demands this trip requires.
WHEN IS IT?
We depart Tuesday, June 1, 2027 and return Friday, June 11, 2027. Specific flight times will be confirmed once travel is booked.
WHAT WILL I NEED?
Modest casual and work clothes, work gloves, toiletries, a reusable water bottle, a Bible, a pen, a valid passport, and money for snacks, souvenirs, and personal spending. A detailed packing list will be provided closer to departure.
If you do not currently have a passport, please begin the application process ASAP so we can purchase airline tickets on time.
WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Nairobi, Kenya. We'll be staying at Brakenhurst Conference and Retreat Center and serving with BlueSky and Serge ministries, BlueSky Kenya is a ministry which provides transformational experiences for students and adults. Serge is a mission organization which seeks to reach unreached people with the hope of the Gospel all over the world. Nate and Shanna Mast are members of our church family who were sent from FPC to minister in Kenya with Serge.
WHAT WILL WE DO?
Our days will include ministry and project work alongside our partners, with breaks for meals and group devotions, plus time together as a team. A detailed itinerary will be shared closer to departure — see "A Note on the Physical Demands of This Trip" later in this application for what to expect physically.
WHAT AM I COMMITTING TO?
By submitting an application, you're agreeing to raise financial and prayer support for the cost of your trip and to attend all pre-trip team meetings (dates & times to be announced). Please let a trip leader know as soon as possible if you have a conflict with one of these dates.
