Wayne joined the staff of First Presbyterian Church in January 2000, after having held pastorates in Georgia, Florida, and Missouri, and serving for twenty-one years as a chaplain for the Navy and Marine Corps around the world. He has published two theses, "Methodology of New Testament Study" and "Black Theology" and two books, "Positive Plus" and "Positive Plus Plan for Smokers -- Quitting for Good." He and his wife Pat have been married for fifty years, have two sons, two granddaughters and two grandsons
