"Convergent Service" Resource Document #1

The document below describes one church's vision, and the implementation of that vision, as they have incorporated two different worship services into their Sunday morning worship ministry. The Worship Task Force, and the Session, found this document helpful in seeking God's will for our church.

Certainly, our church is not the same church as Cherry Creek EPC in the Denver area. There will be clear differences between their vision, and their services and ours. We do, believe, however, that they align closely with what we believe God is calling us to at First Presbyterian. We offer that document to you to help you understand what a "convergent" service is, what we mean by "traditional" or "classical", and why we have taken the step to institute this change in our worship services.
