Carry on the Conversation

Carry on the Conversation is a  glimpse into what our children are learning in  Children's Worship, and what you might ask to "carry on the conversation" with them at home.

Month of November

Key Theme: Trusting in the providence of God. (Isaiah 64:4)
Faith is trusting God’s heart when you cannot see or understand His providential hand.
Ask: The enemy brings many lies into our minds. What are some of the lies that the enemy attacks us with? What happens when we entertain and rehearse these lies?
The bible tells us to “take every thought captive to obey Christ’(2 Corinthians 10:5). What does this mean? What practical things can you do to follow that verse?

Key Theme: Trusting in the providence of God. (Psalm 143:10)
Trusting in the providence of God means submitting to His will. Obedience to Him is true freedom.
Ask: Obedience is not just doing the right thing but having the right heart as well. We act out of our hearts. Share about one time this week you obeyed from the heart. Now share a time you obeyed, but your heart wasn’t right. What were you loving most at that moment?

Key theme: Looking for the providence of God in all things. (Psalm 143:5)
To rejoice in the works of God, we must learn to meditate on His works.
Ask: What are great works of God in nature have you observed? What do they tell you about God?
Spiritual amnesia; we need to remember, and to remind each other of God’s past mercies. Share one or two ways in which you have seen the providence of God in your family or in your life.

Key theme: Looking for the providence of God in all things. (Galatians 2:20)
Seeing the big picture. Those who know Christ are crucified with Him.
Ask: What is meant by “God-centered”? What kinds of things are we temped to center our lives around? And why can’t these things give lasting joy?
Why is seeing the “big picture” so important? What can you do to learn to see the big picture?
