Carry on the Conversation - January 2018

Jan. 7,2018
Key Theme: God has a plan for ALL creation. Psalm 33:11
All of history is the unfolding of God’s plan.
Ask: In what ways do you live your life acknowledging that God has a purpose for you? The reality that God has an unalterable plan for the universe and has the right, power and wisdom to carry out His plan should fill us with awe of Him. What one step can you take this week that will encourage your awe of God?

Key Theme: Everything God does has a purpose. Ephesians 1:11
Nothing happens by a chance; all things are ordained by God.
Ask: What fears or worries do you have? How does knowing that everything God does has a purpose help you with that fear or worry? This week, how can you make a conscious effort to turn that fear or worry over to God? This week think of the many possibilities that God may have purposed in the situations you find yourself encountering.

Key theme: All God’s purposes are right. Deuteronomy 32:3-4
It is wrong to judge God and question His purposes.
Ask: What are some ways that we can fight the fight of faith and keep believing in the goodness of God in difficult situations? Is there someone you can tell this week about the goodness of God?

Key theme: God will accomplish all His purposes. Isaiah 46:9b-10
God’s plan cannot be thwarted. Nothing and no one can hinder God from accomplishing His purposes.
Ask: Philippians 1:6b – “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” What is God promising in this passage? If you are a Christian, how is God working in your life to strengthen your faith? What things oppose that work?
